Holly Hobbie meets Grandma on X-mas
My super psychic scrapbooking ablilty came into play yesterday as the mailman dropped off my Scraptogether.com FREE TRIAL package of Anna Griffin papers. I ALWAYS KNOW WHEN THERE IS A SB related package in the mail waiting for me! The paper is a little dated I think. That's why it's free but I'm sure I can do something with it around X-mas time. Maybe I'll swap it off. LOL I call it the Holly Hobbie meets grandma on X-mas and they share Hickory Farm's pastel Petit Fours and cheese logs, paper package.
BUT! I have been searching for a homely style paper for a 70's schooltime L/O but I need bright colored Holly Hobbie-ish, tiny floral paper in primary colors! Specifically, red and yellow. So, this L/O is going to have to wait till I find the perfect paper. I hate it when I have a print stuck in my mind and I have to search for it. Uh! Here is the work in progress. I always add PPings of my favorite characters at the time, who I loved. This is old school Hello Kitty, Jimmy and Patty.
I'm looking for something to match my best friend Elisabeth's red/yellow outfit here. Also, something similar to my red/navy outfit right above her.
The paper manufacturers are good at making 70's novelty themed paper but they always leave out the OTHER funky part/styles from the 70's that were also around too.
(Ooooops! The boy in the pic is Scooby and a 90's roommate of mine. He grew up to be a meth head but now is doing better and is working for his Republican father's construction company in Newport Beach. And BTW he's under the delusion that he is self-made! hehehe Ah, can't you just see all the hard working illegals working for him?)

You are so right - paper companies just haven't figured out they need to include all those funky patterns from the 70's. I just finished some 70's school picture layouts and could never get the right paper, ended up just using cardstock - ugh! BTW your kewpies are adorable - love 'em!
